It shows what the arithmetic would produce if the entered costs, lead count and close rate were true. It does not establish how likely those inputs are. A useful comparison makes assumptions visible, changes them deliberately and shows which uncertain input has the greatest effect on the decision.

Separate recorded inputs from assumptions

List every input with its source and date. A supplier quote, completed-sale record and guessed close rate have different levels of support. Mark each as observed, quoted or assumed. If the campaign has not run, do not describe its lead volume or sales as actual results simply because they appear in a calculator output.

Choose a consistent period, currency and revenue basis. Keep variable delivery costs separate from campaign costs, and record excluded overhead or other expenses. Do not combine an annual sales value with a short test’s cost unless the model explicitly accounts for the timing and evidence behind that value.

Choose one uncertainty to examine first

Start with an input that matters and is genuinely uncertain, such as close rate or variable delivery cost. Hold the other inputs constant and compare a few plausible values supplied by the owner or grounded in relevant records. Label the rows by their actual values rather than calling one ‘expected’ without evidence.

Avoid choosing a favorable combination of more leads, higher sales value and lower costs merely to make a scenario look attractive. You can examine combined changes later, but changing one input first makes the relationship easier to understand. The table should reveal sensitivity, not disguise it behind an optimistic label.

Calculate each row using the same formula

For a simple lead scenario, multiply leads by the assumed close rate to obtain modeled customers. Multiply that by contribution per customer, then subtract entered campaign costs. Keep fractional customers if the tool uses them as a modeled average, while making clear that they are not observed customer counts.

Use enough precision to avoid misleading rounding, then display money consistently. If contribution per sale is zero or negative, additional modeled sales do not solve positive campaign costs. If a denominator is zero, show the dependent rate or cost as unavailable rather than inventing a zero result.

Illustrative sensitivity table in words

Hold 40 leads, $70 contribution per customer and $400 total campaign cost constant. At a 10% assumed close rate, modeled customers are 4 and contribution after campaign costs is -$120. At 20%, the figures are 8 and $160. At 30%, they are 12 and $440. These are conditional calculations, not probabilities or forecasts of what the campaign will deliver.

Identify what the decision depends on

Look for the point at which the conclusion changes. In the example, the outcome depends strongly on the close rate. The next useful task may be to examine comparable completed enquiries or improve how outcomes are recorded, rather than choosing the most attractive row and using it as the budget justification.

Check whether the scenario requires more sales than the team can fulfill or more cash than the business has authorized. A mathematically positive result can still depend on unrealistic capacity or timing. Record those constraints beside the table so the financial-looking output does not hide operational limits.

Keep scenarios separate from the test review

Save the original assumptions before the campaign runs. Later, add observed results in a separate row or worksheet using the same definitions where possible. Explain differences in cost, lead quality or the sales window. Do not quietly replace the original scenario and imply that the observed result was predicted all along.

Use the comparison to decide what further evidence is worth collecting within the authorized budget. More rows do not remove uncertainty, and a small test may remain inconclusive. A good scenario worksheet shows the decision’s dependencies clearly enough that the owner can choose whether to proceed, simplify or wait for better information.

Every input has a source or assumption label.

One major variable changes at a time.

All rows use the same cost and time basis.

Capacity and cash constraints remain visible.

Observed results are recorded separately later.

Votre prochaine étape

Create three rows for one uncertain input in the Lead Value Calculator. Write the evidence you would need to distinguish those rows before using any of them to support a spending decision.

Créez un petit tableau de sensibilité qui montre comment la modification d'une hypothèse affecte la contribution sans présenter de prévision des ventes.

[20

post-135","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-advertising-offers
["GET
